Ammonium Sulfate

Ammonium Sulfate Sales and Distribution

Ammonium Sulfate is non hazardous, non flammable fertilizer that is produced primarily as a byproduct of Caprolactam production. Caprolactam is the base stock used to produce nylon.



CIS operates several warehouses for customer storage and distribution. The customer distribution warehouses are cinder block construction with concrete pads and include sprinklered, unsprinkleded, and rail facilities.


Transloading by CIS

Currently Commonwealth is reloading incoming ALCOA aluminum, ProBuild lumber, and aggregates all of which CIS delivers to customers in the Richmond area.

Public Scales

Trucking and Public Scales

The scales are open 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to support local plants’ operations. To accommodate today’s larger trucks, the scales are 70 feet long, 12 feet wide, and can support up to 200,000 lbs.
